Assisi is the birthplace of St. Francis. The town lies in the Perugia province of Italy in the Umbria region. Flanked by the Mt. Subasio, on the west, Assisi is 1300 feet above sea level. A religious, holy town it’s main attraction is the 13 century old Basilica di San Francesco, that still contains the sacred relics of France and showcases some of the beautiful frescoes belonging to the early Renaissance period of his life.
