Bolognetta was once a very important region, due to its location along the Palermo-Noto highway. The gradual slopes of the Cozzo Guardiola provide the base for Bolognetta and one of the main attractions of this region is its Cathedral Church. This religious monument dates back to the early 18th century and was restored and expanded to its former glory in 1785 by Marco Mancino VII. The interiors of the church are beautiful with excellently crafted statues of San Giuseppe and of Madonna del Carmine, made by the artisans from the old school of Bagnasco.
