Perched on a hill midway along the spectacular Tyrrhenian coast that over looks the Gulf, Termini is a Sicilian town. Natural mineral water springs with salt, bromine and iodine content, Termini has earned the named Thermae Himerensis, which also happens to be its ancient name. Thermae means ‘warm baths’ in Latin amd Himerensis directs us to the fact that the town was founded by Punic colonists after Imera was destroyed in 409 BC. The Villa Palmieri is worth a visit in the oldest part of the town. It is a public garden with Roman remains, and the painting of Crucified Christ by artist Ruzzolone (1484). Then there is the Santa Caterina church belonging to the 15th Century.
